A newly built villa in Ikoyi split into public and private wings, a banquet hall, and two pool gardens: a 25-zone whole-house audio system, an independent Dolby Atmos cinema, Control4 automation, structured networking, and a later whole-home 4K video upgrade.
This Ikoyi residence is a busy family home. It is also where the family hosts guests, from small meetings to full banquets.
Our client wanted both sides of life to work under one roof. The challenge was to let one wing host an event while the family carried on undisturbed in the other.
We gave each wing its own equipment and controls, then linked them so the house still works as one.
Music reaches twenty-five areas of the home, from the children's bedrooms to the gallery. Each area can play its own music, or the whole house can play together. A song started in the Play Room can be paused and picked up again in the kitchen.
Everything is controlled from tabletop touchscreens or a phone.
Two pools, two moods. The Private Pool is for family afternoons, and the Public Pool is for guests. Each has speakers hidden in the planting and a touchscreen at the water's edge, so no one has to go inside to change the music.
The Banquet Hall. Speakers along the walls fill the room evenly, and a wireless microphone lets anyone stand for a toast and be heard across the hall.
We kept the Public Wing's music and controls separate from the family's. Guests in the banquet hall never hear what the children are playing, and a quiet evening in the Private Wing stays quiet during an event.
