A three-storey private residence in Nicon Town, Lagos: whole-villa lighting and shading, a dedicated home cinema, multi-room and outdoor audio, biometric and video access control, and battery-backed power resilience, coordinated from one Control4 backbone
The Olagunju residence in Nicon Town spans three floors, a separate games room, and a purpose-built cinema, and the scope for it kept expanding well past the first proposal: what began as a single 2017 quotation was still being revised by change order two years later. Hausba’s task was to make sure every later addition answered to the same keypads and the same equipment room as everything installed before it, rather than turning into a second, parallel system bolted onto the first.
A Lutron HomeWorks QS system carries lighting and shading together across all three floors, from Palladiom metal keypads in the principal rooms down to Pico wireless keypads at the bedside, driving motorized Sivoia QS shades on the same schedule as the lights.
Control4 sits behind the keypads and touchscreens as the coordinating layer, tying the lighting into whole-home and outdoor audio and video distribution, with a Cool Automation gateway giving it direct control over the villa’s Daikin VRF air conditioning.
The cinema is built to its own standard: a Sony 4K SXRD projector onto a fixed Screen Innovations screen, driven by a Trinnov Altitude16 processor and a Wisdom Audio Sage line array, with a Kaleidescape server supplying the library.
Behind the utility room’s isolators sits a lithium-ion battery bank feeding a 15KVA Victron inverter and a 60KVA automatic energy controller, sized to carry the villa’s lighting, shading, network, and cinema loads through a power outage.
