The estate in Guzape sits across a main residence, gate house, and staff quarters around an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a gym, and a tennis court, with a dedicated cinema built into the basement. Reaching every one of those spaces meant splitting the equipment head-end in two: one in the basement for the cinema, and a second on the first floor for the rest of the house, coordinated with the architect, electrical contractor, and HVAC contractor through design and rough-in.
A Control4 controller and in-wall and tabletop touchscreens set lighting, shading, audio, and video from a single interface in the main lounge, family lounge, TV lounge, gym, and the master and family bedrooms.
The lighting runs on a wired Lutron HomeWorks QS system, with glass keypads at the main circulation points and Pico wireless stations elsewhere, and the same processor drives Sivoia QS motorized shades at the mini lounge, kitchen, guest bedroom, outdoor dining area, ground floor staircases, and several of the family bedrooms.
Sixteen audio zones and eight video zones reach the pools, gym, lounges, bedrooms, and roof sit-out from one head-end, so a song or a film started in one room continues in the next without restarting.
The cinema ceiling's acoustic treatment is split into two named sections on the absorber schedule: a front panel above the screen and a separate “starlight” section at just over 11 square metres further back, the naming on the schedule pointing to a starlit ceiling effect built into the acoustic layer itself.
