A hotel-wide technology upgrade for Bon Hotel: a structured cabling backbone, protected head-end power, hotel-wide Wi-Fi coverage indoors and out, and distributed video and wireless presentation for guest and meeting spaces.
Bon Hotel's network, AV, and backup power all had to run through a single utility room, sized to hold a battery bank, an online inverter, and a server/AV rack in one linear run. The brief called for a resilient head end and building-wide Wi-Fi, delivered in phases without interrupting a working hotel.
A CAT6A structured cabling backbone ties the property back to one rack, protected by a 10kVA online inverter and battery bank so the network and AV systems ride out mains interruptions. A later phase added Luxul wireless access points, indoor and outdoor, to extend coverage past the building's walls, while a Blustream HDMI distribution setup and a wePresent wireless system carry video and screen-sharing to guest and meeting spaces.
The Wi-Fi rollout didn't stop at the building envelope: two outdoor bridging access points were specified alongside six indoor units, carrying the same network out into the hotel's grounds rather than leaving coverage to fade at the exterior walls.
